A via ferrata is an easy and simple way to enjoy a wall. It consists of stairs and cables anchored to the rock that will give us security during the progression. We can also find Nepalese and Tibetan bridges, among other things. It's a great way to get in touch with the world around you.
The via ferrata began during World War I when vertical steps were equipped in the mountains of the Dolomites with stairs, cables, chains … to pass troops. Now, those facilities that remained in the mountains, are used by mountaineering climbers to practice this sport, which mixes climbing and trekking.
In our country, the first via ferrata was installed on the mountain of Montserrat, the via ferrata de la Teresina (now closed).
Graduation of the difficulties
German Eduard Hüsler upgraded the difficulty on a 6-level scale from K1 (easy) to K6 (extremely difficult). The letter K refers to the German word "Klettersteig" (via ferrata with German).
K1 (easy)
K2 (little difficult)
K3 (something difficult)
K4 (difficult)
K5 (very difficult)
K6 (extremely difficult)
At Guies Ama Dablam we have prepared several options to have a good time and that everyone can enjoy the via ferrata with total safety.
