Snowshoes activity for schools.

Snowshoeing is an ideal activity for school groups of all levels, since no previous knowledge is needed, as skiing might be. It is an excellent activity to introduce students to the world of winter mountains in a safe and fun way.

We carry out snowshoe routes adapted to the age and level of the students, from walks through black pine forests with very little gradient, to peaks where you will need to have a minimum of physical fitness to overcome the gradient to the highest point of the mountain .

During the trip, students will have the opportunity to:

• Discover the flora and fauna of the area where we are.
• Learn the techniques of walking with snowshoes.
• Learn basic orientation techniques and safety knowledge in the winter mountains.
• Observe the bucolic snowy landscapes.
• Experience the sensation of walking on snow with snowshoes specially designed to facilitate movement.

At Guies Ama Dablam we believe that it is a good and enriching winter activity where each and every one of the students can enjoy nature and the snow.

It is difficult?

We have different itineraries where we can adapt to the needs of each school group, discovery of snowshoes, advanced beginner outings...

From what age?

We recommend snowshoes from 9 - 10 years.

How does the activity work?

Welcome from the group. Explanation of the activity.

We will distribute the material (racquets and sticks).

Explanation of how we will progress with snowshoes, the different techniques of ascent and descent.

Snowshoe route.

Once finished, we will return to the starting point (where the material was distributed in the morning).

How long does it last?

It depends on the route but in general, between 3 - 6 hours total (from welcome to farewell). Ideal to do the activity in the morning.

Where is the snowshoeing performed?

We have different areas where we do snowshoeing. Preferably Ripollès. But also in Berguedà, Cerdanya, Northern Catalonia, ...

What is needed to do the activity?

Boots (waterproof), 25 or 30 liter backpack, warm clothes (Pants, Jacket, Hat, Buff, Waterproof Gloves), sunglasses, snow goggles, sun protection, food and drink.

The price of the activity will include VAT, Qualified Guides (sports techniques in mid-mountain), Technical Equipment (snowshoes and sticks), RC/Accident Insurance, Photo Report (non-professional).
