Via Ferrata

Via ferratas are a good activity for schools to do as an outing at the end of the year or during the year as a fun and sportive activity. It is an activity between hiking and climbing.

It is difficult?

We have different via ferratas for all levels. The best for school groups is do a via ferrata for begginers because all group can enjoy the experience.

During the entire activity we are secured to the lifeline cable.

From what age?

It is recommended to do via ferrata from the 6th grade.

How does the activity work?

Welcome to the group. Briefing of the activity.

We will distribute the material (harness, heatsink, anchor head, helmet) to each one, get equipped and walk to the start of the via ferrata.

We will explain how we will progress along the via ferrata, the different elements we will find, directions we must follow, etc.

Via Ferrada (approx. 2h - 3h). We will progress through the metal ladders that we will find clinging to the wall and always secured with the heatsink that we will carry in the harness and this, connected to the lifeline cable. We will find vertical parts where we will gain height, but also horizontal parts and monkey and/or Tibetan and/or Nepalese bridges.

Once finished, we will walk back to the starting point (where the material was distributed in the morning).

How long does it last?

It depends on the via ferrata but in general, between 3 - 4 hours total (from the welcome to the farewell).

Where does the via ferrata take place?

We have different areas where we carry out via ferratas. We recommend the Via Ferrada de la Roca de la Creu (Ribes de Freser, Ripollès) or the begginers parts of the Via Ferrada de les Baumes Corcades (Centelles, Osona) or the Via Ferrada de la Cala del Molí (Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Baix Empordà).

What is needed to do the activity?

Hiking boots or sportive trainers, comfortable clothes for the activity, comfortable backpack with food and drink for the activity. Recommended to wear bike gloves.

What is the best time to do the activity?

Ideal in the months when it's not very hot!! Autumn, winter and spring. Avoid during summer. In the hottest months we have the canyoning activity that will be much better adapted to the season and where we will enjoy it the most!
