Snowshoes to Dona Peak, Vallter

This excursion of snowshoes in Catalan Pyrenees starts its tour at Ski Resort Vallter 2000, but we do not step on it; instead we walk in the opposite direction. We head next to a stream until reaching Portella de Mantet, a long and beautiful plain. We leave it behind and continue until reaching the Pic de la Dona (2702 m). This has spectacular views over the whole ski resort, the other summits surrounding it (Gra de Fajol, Bastiments,…) and towards the French Pyrenees (Pics Perics, Carlit,…) with the impressive Canigó in the middle. Furthermore, on a clear day we can even see the sea. Once on the top, we will descend following the same path, and if the amount of snow allows it, through the Coll de la Geganta (saddle) until arriving to the ski resort Vallter.

• Season: December until April.
• Activity duration: 4 hours.
• Difficulty: Moderate.
• Route: 5 Km.
• Elevation gain: 600 meters.
• Elevation drop: 600 meters.
• Location: Ski Resort Vallter 2000.
• Minimum age: 12 years old (minors have to be accompanied by an adult).
• Material needed by the client: Hiking boots, backpack of 25 or 30 liters, warm clothes, hat, buff, gloves, sunglasses, snow goggles, sunscreen, food and water for the activity.
